2024 Community Satisfaction Survey  

The 2024 Community Satisfaction Survey results for Merri-bek City Council have been released, based on interviews with 601 residents. This annual survey provides valuable insights into our performance and areas for improvement. 

Our overall satisfaction score of 68 shows progress, approaching the metropolitan council average of 70. While this indicates positive movement, we recognise there is still work to be done to meet and exceed community expectations. 

Library Services, Waste Services, Seniors and Family Support services were all identified as top-performing areas for Council in this year’s survey, scoring above the average for metropolitan councils. Our Waste Management services rating  saw significant improvement compared to the 2023 result. Customer Service received a score slightly above the metropolitan average, demonstrating our commitment to responsive community interactions. Residents have also reported improved satisfaction in their evaluation of Council's consultation and engagement process for 2024.

These results provide a clear picture of where we're meeting community needs and where we need to focus our efforts for improvement. We appreciate the community's feedback and will use these insights to guide our continued  focus on core service delivery, community facilities and public spaces, and engagement and communication. 

We thank all participants for their valuable input and will continue working to make Merri-bek a vibrant place to live for all residents.
