Vote now for your favourite school crossing supervisor

14 May 2024

In the hustle and bustle of school pick-up and drop-off times, there's a group of unsung heroes quietly ensuring pedestrians safety: our school crossing supervisors.

Merri-Bek boasts a team of 77 crossing supervisors, each committed to proactive measures for pedestrian safety and giving back to their community.

They're more than just a watchful eye; they're familiar faces who have built relationships with locals and are our weather warriors - on duty rain or shine.

Gerry has been a school crossing supervisor in Merri-bek for 6 years and is truly passionate about people's safety. Gerry has previously been a recipient of the School Crossing Supervisor of the Year award for Region 1.

He said, "It was deeply satisfying that my efforts were acknowledged to be truly valuable to the community I proudly served.”

Aubrey became a School Crossing Supervisor 6 years ago because he wanted to give back to his community.
"The best thing about my job is being appreciated by the children, parents, and the school for the job I'm doing."

Emily’s favourite thing about being a School Crossing Supervisor is giving back to her community and connecting with the children, parents and school staff in their area.

It’s time again to vote for your favourite Merri-bek school crossing supervisor for 2023/24. Let’s give them the recognition they deserve! Nominations close 31 May.
