Public Notice: Proposed sale of Unit 1,6 Sutherland Street, Coburg

Merri-bek City Council, acting under Section 114 of the Local Government Act 2020 proposes to sell its property at Unit 1, 6 Sutherland Street Coburg.
An Expression of Interest process was undertaken in November 2022 to gauge the capacity of registered housing providers to provide long-term affordable housing at this property.
Council resolved at its meeting held on 10 May 2023 to select Aboriginal Housing Victoria as the preferred provider.
As part of its Community Engagement Policy, Council is inviting submissions on the proposal. Any person wishing to make a submission must do so in writing by no later than Monday 5pm 14 August 2023.
A person making a submission is entitled to request in the submission that they wish to appear in person in support of the submission, or to be represented by a person specified in the submission, at the Hearing of Submissions Committee to be held at a date and time to be determined by Council.

This notice is also available to view on Council’s website pursuant to Section 114 of the Local Government Act 2020.
Following the consideration of any submissions, Council may decide to sell the land or not to sell the land.
