Protecting the Moonee Ponds Creek corridor

10 Jan 2022

We’re excited to confirm that we’ve purchased a property bordering Moonee Ponds Creek in John Street, Oak Park.

The property title extends close to the creek, including parts of the informal walking trail and native vegetation which will now be protected as public land. This will be great news to bird enthusiasts, who know this area of the creek is popular for nesting of White-faced Herons, the pair often having multiple clutches of babies each year here.

Council is now investigating opportunities to determine the future use of the land.
